EdTech application developed with multi-tenant architecture and flexible role system
Goal
To create an application that would become both an informational and functional point for all the educational process participants including graduates, students, teachers, curators, parents, etc.
Obstacle
– The data of educational institutions connected to the application could not be stored in a common/single database. – It wasn’t possible to take into consideration all possible roles of application users beforehand, and to differentiate access levels and permissions.
Solution
We developed a multi-tenant architecture that allows to store data from different schools and universities in isolated databases, with the option to easily add an unlimited number of new educational institutions without engaging developers.
We implemented a flexible system of roles and permissions, which allows to dynamically add new roles and open different levels of access by the application administrator without the participation of developers. Microsoft Power BI was integrated as well to create custom dashboards and generate dynamic reports.
